CBR - Captive bead ring. Sometimes it's called BCR (Ball Closure Ring).
CBR can be used pretty much in any type of piercing( except tongue piercing). Sometimes even navel piercing is done with CBR. It make your piercing to heal faster. The size or gauge size of the bead ring depends on the piercing type and/or your preferences. To open captive bead ring you usually need a special tool - Ring Opener or for big gauges - Large ring opener. Also to close the ring you will need Ring Closing Pliers or for big gauges Large ring closing pliers. Those tools are not needed if you are buying acrylic rings. They can easily be opened and closed by hands. |
