The 14 gauge black steel labret stud shown here is cooler than most. The thick base beneath the dangerous spike on the end gives it a chunky base that adds some fun and funk beneath the fierce and frightening pointed spike. The spike size -- measured by the diameter at the base -- is available in standard 5mm size, though it is also available in two smaller sizes because the base and the spike are on the large side. The primary material is high quality surgical stainless steel that is colored black by a specialized laboratory process designed to eliminate flaking, chipping, or fading. Because the coloring is infused into steel, it of course insures durability and sterility.
