The 14 gauge straight barbell shown here makes a great tongue ring because the half-sphere on one end means that it takes up less room in your mouth and makes it that much easier to talk. The piece is constructed out of black surgical stainless steel, including the hemisphere on one end and the full sphere on the other end. The straight barbell is available in a number of lengths, so you can use it for far many more purposes than just a tongue ring.
