Though this jewelry offers the security, sterility, and durability of metal - it is constructed of surgical stainless steel, after all - it manages to yet offer a number of twists (literally) on the traditional metal body piercing jewelry. More than just a 16 gauge circular barbell, this piece is a twisted barbell with cones, customizable sizing, and a blackened exterior colored by a special process for safely coloring metal without allowing any infection-causing leaching to occur. It is just as wearable as any uncolored metal circular barbell, though, as the spiral retains enough of its circular shape to allow it to fit anywhere a regular 16 gauge circular piece would fit.
